You will never believe that plastic problem is solved permanently ?

PLASTIC is the most dangerous component for the living things on earth, including human being , animal , fish, etc. The plastic takes 1000 years to decompose it in landfills. No single life can digest the plastic and causes harmful diseases, hence it is the greatest problem on earth , for solving this problem the many scientist working on it. 

Some student of Yale university found a fungal species 'Pestalotiopsis microspora' in amazone rainforest, which is able to digest plastic and can live only on plastic. The main ingredient of plastic is Polyurethane on which the above microbial species feed. Pestalotiopsis microspora is anaerobic microbial species means it is able to live without oxygen and can decompose or digest the landfill plastic, which help us to decrease landfill plastic.

After some year the Katharina Unger of Utretch University from Netherland worked on plastic decomposition and she found that the oyster fungi can digest the plastic in presence of nutrient agar shell to convert it into the edible biomass. The most amazing thing is that,the decomposition or digestion of plastic by the oyster fungi takes only 1-2 months only where plastic requires 1000 years to decompose without any fungi.

About 270-300 million tons of plastic waste is produced per year of which 8-10 million tons of plastic is dumped into the oceans per year and about 7-8 million tons plastic is recycled per year  worldwide. So you can think how much plastic is produced per day , per month , per year. This discovery will very useful to fix the plastic problem.
